A letter from our
Head Teacher
Welcome
to Townhill Primary School 's website.
You may be a pupil, former pupil, relative or someone who has just chanced
upon the site. We hope you enjoy your visit. Please take time to sign
our guestbook as we look forward to reading your comments.
Townhill Primary is situated in the Hillhouse / Earnock area of Hamilton.
The original school opened in February 1965. Forty-five years later, on
the 17th February 2010, we moved into a new building built on the existing
school grounds.
We are delighted with our beautiful new school which totally meets the
requirements of education within the 21st Century. It has 13 classrooms,
a computer suite, a library, two open areas, a dining room and a gymnasium.
The school is set on a hill with a grassy area to the front and extensive
hard and grassy surface playing areas to the rear. Please take time to
look at the photographs of our school!
Townhill Primary believes in promoting good citizenship. The climate of
the school is built upon a VALUES system. We want everyone to realise
the value of being Honest, Respectful, Considerate, Responsible, Cooperative
and Independent.
Pupils and staff demonstrate in many ways care and concern for the wider
community. Our young people are given responsibility and involved in decision
making through pupil bodies such as Pupil Council, School Captains, The
Green Team, Fairtrade group, Playground Buddies, Playground Pals and Monitors.
The school has successfully gained three Green Flags from ECO Schools
Scotland and is also the recipient of a Gold Award for being a Health
Promoting School.
Parents are always welcome within the school and we would be most willing
to show any new parent around the building. Please contact us if you would
like any further information.
